Small Bath Gets Some Spark
Piedmont, CA
Project: Replace plastic tub/shower unit and ov ersized vanity, and add some color to this "contractor special" bathroom.
Challenges: Trying to keep perfectly adequate wall and floor tile while adding some style and color.
ReImagined: I was miraculously able to find tile that matched the existing wall and floor tile, so we removed the acrylic tub/shower unit and tiled in a stylish walk in shower with irridescent mosaic accents. For the existing wall tile, I removed the bland top bullnose piece and added the mosaic tile with a bronze metallic cap. Voila! A narrow vanity created more space, a new medicine cabinet and lighting, and then we had new doors made for the dated "honey oak" built-in.

feels open and efficient.

But with plenty of storage along with the new medicine cabinet.

to replace the epic "Honey Oak" that was there. Tongue and groove matches vanity doors.
